Project H is great because it is all humanitarian design. This design revolution is important today in our world because there are plenty of people and places in need of this type of design. Serving a function for people is an important factor in design. All of the designs that Emily Pilloton showed/created were helping other people that used them. The design of the water carrier for people in Africa is great because not only is it a way to transport a large quantity of water, but also takes much of the pain and struggle out of the process and makes the whole process more efficient. The shoes designed for people that detect mines is great because it absorbs much of the shock that would be experienced from a detonating mine. Today it is especially important to keep this design revolution moving forward. It is exciting to think about how design will grow from here on out.

Movie Response

I found the movie we viewed in class on Monday, March 1st was very interesting. The point brought up at the beginning of the movie is that as kids, for the most part, we are very creative and involved in art. As people grow older, however, this creativity and drive to do/perform art dies. This is unfortunate to realize because, after our creativity and passion to make art fades, people become more boring and going along with the norm. It is nice to see that some adults have realized this and are making a statement to the public to stop this from happening.
